F-Class is a precision, long-range discipline, characterised by two main divisions: F-Open, which allows any calibre up to 8mm, uses front rests and rear bags, with a 10kg weight limit, and F/TR (Target Rifle), restricted to .308 Win or .223 Rem calibres, using only a bipod/rear bag and limited to 8.25kg. Typically shot at distances of 600-1000 yards.
We shoot mainly FT/R in over multiple distances with 1000 yard targets at least once a month during the regular season. We are a welcoming section and count amongst our ranks complete beginners, European champions and every ability in between. Our stated purpose is to encourage our members to achieve their personal goals in a friendly and supportive environment.
Whether you are an experienced shooter in this discipline, just want to try it out or want to develop your skills further, please get in touch: fclass@nlrc.org
There are a number of competitions at Bisley and across the UK organised by the NRA and other clubs and organisations such as the GB F-Class association. We encourage and support NLRC members to compete at the highest level and have formed a strong section to develop skills that will be valuable to our members as well as our club’s team. The Club’s Championship is held in September, and most events are in the Spring and Summer seasons although the GB F-Class League runs through until November.
The North London Rifle Club is one of the oldest shooting clubs with a long and storied history. It is our aspiration to add to that history.
We plan to develop the NLRC team to a level that can compete at national and international level. We run development sessions through the year where less experienced shooters can learn how to function well within the team setup. This involves more than just shooting: An F-Class team of 8 is typically comprised of Team Captain, 4x Shooters, Wind Coach, Plotter and Register Keeper.
Membership of the team will require commitment in both time and material resources, acceptance and adoption of our long-term goals, and humility from all of us. Those responsible for building the team adopt a strategic approach to the recruitment of talent and have set up a strong training regime.
Opportunities for competition team practices, ammunition load testing and logistics for team shooting are provided, so get in touch to be a part of this exciting programme. Contact fclass@nlrc.org for more information.
